Our Board
Mitsuko Leonard
Mitsuko Leonard serves as the Director of Recruitment at the University of California, Davis. Prior to joining UC Davis in 2002, she worked in Japan and Spain, where she also traveled extensively throughout the surrounding regions. At UC Davis, Mitsuko has managed the international and domestic evaluation of undergraduate applications, as well as student recruitment within California, across the U.S., and abroad. She has spearheaded several recruitment tours, including the inaugural international recruitment tour for the University of California system. Mitsuko is passionate about challenging conventional established recruitment strategies and leans into innovative approaches geared toward the empowerment of students, enhanced access, and breaking down global barriers to higher education.
Mary Adams
Mary Adams is responsible for international undergraduate recruitment at Penn State. During her career she has visited over 70 countries and has read thousands of applications from across the globe. For over 15 years she served on the Council of International Schools Higher Education and Asia Committees and, in conjunction with Wren Tours, directed recruitment tours to Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
Heather Fomin
Heather has over 30 years of experience in higher education, university admissions, and study abroad programs. She is currently serving as the Assistant Vice Provost for Enrollment at The New School in New York where she leads a talented team of educators and administrators responsible for graduate and undergraduate admission at the university. She has also been Associate Dean of Admissions at the Tandon School of Engineering at NYU, Senior Associate Director of Admissions at NYU, and Acting Associate Dean of Admission at Drew University. She has had the pleasure of working with students from all over the world during her tenure in education. Heather also holds a BA in Russian Studies from Drew University and an MA in International Education from NYU. She studied abroad at St. Petersburg University and lived and worked in Moscow and St. Petersburg for the American Council of Teachers of Russian.
Jackie Vogl
Jackie Vogl worked at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh for more than 30
years, primarily serving in roles that supported international education. Beginning in 2003, she
served as the college’s Senior International Officer, with responsibilities spanning international
recruitment and admissions, student services for international students, and study-away
programs.
Since retiring from full-time work in May 2023, Jackie has remained involved in higher
education through part-time roles with various institutions and international organizations. She
also enjoys spending time outdoors, learning to play pickleball, and singing with local vocal
ensembles.
Skye Rust
Skye Rust serves as the Senior Director of Recruitment at Columbia College Chicago where she oversees innovative strategies to help domestic and international students find their best fit university. She holds a BA in International Relations & French, a MA in French & Francophone Literature, a MA in Interdisciplinary Arts and studied and worked in Paris, France before moving to Chicago. She worked as a French professor prior to entering Enrollment Management, has traveled to over 70 countries and served on the CIS Committee for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
